My Teaching Career I graduated from Kean University in 2006. I began teaching social studies at an alternative school, The Titusville Academy. I was employed there for the next four years before I moved on to Franklin High School. The next four years were spent as a Social Studies and Special Education teacher for 9 and 11th graders. During this time I acquired my Standard certificate as Teacher of Students with Disabilities from Rutgers University. Having this degree helped me learn how to help ALL students...even those without disabilities. I have been at Frankin Township School since 2014.
Why do I teach? So many reasons!!
1. The energy kids provide
Teaching is never boring. It is never the same year after year. Students and all their wonderful personalities keep it energizing and fun! Teaching often means laughter...and who doesn't love to laugh?
2. Inspiration
I like the idea that I might inspire or motivate a child. Something I say or do might spark their interest and help them in the future. I want to make a difference. I want to foster creativity, intelligence and life-long learning.
3. Impact
I want to help students learn and develop skills they will need for the rest of their lives, This includes reading, writing, thinking critically, problem solving, using technology and more!
